COMPASSIONATE CAREIndividual Therapy
Attachment-based, relational therapy that attends to your inner world, lived experience, and the patterns that shape how you relate to yourself and others.
The FoundationWhat is individual therapy?
Individual therapy is a collaborative, one-on-one process rooted in relationship. It focuses on understanding how your experiences, emotions, and attachment patterns have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. This work also pays close attention to the different parts of you that have developed over time to help you cope, protect, and survive.
Rather than approaching your struggles as problems to be fixed, therapy invites curiosity toward these parts. Together, we explore emotional responses, inner conflicts, and protective strategies with respect and care, recognizing that each part carries a story and a purpose. This process helps bring understanding to patterns that may feel confusing or overwhelming.
Individual therapy supports greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and internal connection. Over time, this work helps foster a more compassionate relationship with yourself, allowing space for healing, clarity, and a steadier sense of wholeness to take shape.

Therapies That WorkOur approach
Our approach is integrative and grounded in attachment, relationship science, and trauma-informed care. Rather than applying a single technique, the work is shaped by what you are experiencing, how your nervous system responds, and the patterns that have developed in relationship over time.
At the center of our work is attachment-based therapy, including Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. This approach is supported by decades of research and focuses on emotional safety, responsiveness, and connection as the foundation for change. Patterns are understood as meaningful responses to lived experience rather than symptoms to eliminate.
We also integrate parts-informed work, which attends to the different parts of you that have learned to protect, manage, or hold pain. These parts are approached with curiosity and respect, helping reduce inner conflict and foster greater internal connection and compassion.
Trauma-informed care is woven throughout the work. When appropriate, EMDR is incorporated to support the processing of overwhelming or stuck experiences, always with attention to pacing, nervous system capacity, and relational safety. Somatic awareness is also used to help notice how emotions and stress are held in the body.
This work is collaborative, thoughtful, and responsive. Evidence-based practices guide the process, but therapy itself is shaped by your story, your relationships, and what feels most supportive for meaningful and lasting change.
Your Therapy JourneyWhat to expect
Session Structure
Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes, held weekly or bi-weekly depending on your needs and preferences. We create a consistent schedule to support your progress.
Therapeutic Fit
A strong therapeutic relationship matters. If at any point this work does not feel like the right fit, we can talk openly about that and consider next steps together.
Your Pace
There's no "right" way to do therapy. We move at your pace, addressing what feels most important to you in each moment. You're always in control.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is sacred. Everything discussed in therapy is completely confidential, with very limited legal exceptions (such as immediate danger to yourself or others).

Common concerns
-
No. Therapists are trained to meet you with unconditional positive regard. We've heard it all, and our role is to understand, not evaluate.
-
That's completely normal, especially early on. Your therapist will help guide the conversation and ask questions that create space for reflection. Therapy isn't about performing.
-
There's no fixed timeline. Some people find relief in 8-12 sessions; others work with a therapist for years. We'll regularly check in on your progress and goals.
